What about Rutgers getting penalized by the NCAA for


"failure to monitor" the football program? Also, there was the scandal in 2015 where Coach Kyle Flood contacted a faculty member over a player's grades. He was suspended 3 games and fined $50K. However, I believe you are right that most athletic scandals involving Rutgers involved the basketball teams (i.e. Mike Rice scandal for the men's team and I believe a sexual harassment/misconduct involving the women's team).
